The Silver Reef Casino Resort in Ferndale, Washington, is a stunning example of cultural fusion and modern gaming. This 80,000-square-foot gaming space is part of a larger resort that includes 8 restaurants, 206 luxurious guest rooms and suites, a full-service spa, and an expansive meeting and event center spanning over 30,000 square feet. Owned and operated by the Lummi Nation, the resort’s casino floor underwent a refresh to incorporate the tribe’s rich cultural heritage and connection to the sea and salmon. The Lummi Nation held a contest among tribal member artists, and the pathway fish design was chosen for its historical significance. The expertise of Couristan’s Design Studio and its 80% wool/20% nylon woven Axminster carpet tile program was called upon to complete the final design element of  Casino’s dynamic floor, capturing a beautiful representation of the tribe’s history and traditions.
