Lead designer Douglas Devtiveaux of Gensler based in Houston, collaborated with The Houstonian, and our Dallas design team to create these custom 80% wool, 20% nylon Axminster woven carpets. The bespoke designs adorn The Houstonian’s Ballrooms, Meeting and Pre-Function Areas, Stairs, and Mezzanine Gallery. Drawing inspiration from the property’s natural landscape, the carpets showcase a series of versatile palettes, including soft tones of gold and taupe, as well as rich blues, creams, and browns. This thoughtful refresh pays heartfelt tribute to the Houstonian’s enduring legacy, which is deeply rooted in Texas tradition.
