Located in the heart of Chicago’s vibrant Streeterville neighborhood, the bustling Hyatt Centric Chicago Magnificent Mile serves as a destination for both business and leisure travelers. The 347-room property recently unveiled an extensive multi-phase renovation that transformed its guestrooms, suites, expansive meeting and public spaces, restaurant, and lounge areas. Chicago-based interior architecture and design studio Anderson/Miller collaborated with Couristan to design and produce a striking 80% wool/20% nylon Axminster carpet for the hotel’s Grand Ballroom. Inspired by the concept “Where the City Meets the Lake,” the design incorporates organic shades of blue and copper, rich walnut accents, and bronze detailing that evoke the fluid movement of water throughout the space. Couristan’s expertise in custom hand-tufted rugs was also showcased within the hotel’s lobby, where the designs were created to capture the property’s vibrant energy through a warm, modern minimalist aesthetic.
