The sky above… and COLOR TRENDS that inspired the development of our Futuretense Collection.⁠

Pantone's “Eclipse”, “Future Dusk” and “Mocha Mouse” were the starting point in expressing the sky in carpet colors. We loved the darkest dusky navy, and we took the mocha in a metallic direction in two ways, {slide 1} hints of warmth towards Bronze, and {Slide 2} flourishes of metallic yarns and glints of clean cold silver lurex.⁠
⁠
See these lurex yarns applied on {slide 4}, a rug in the collection which plays with metallic yarns to contrast the silvery rays of light amidst felted fuzzy linework; much as the fuzzy clouds have a silvery element when light shines on them.⁠

⁠The sky above…and woolen texturization, speci

⁠The sky above…and woolen texturization, specifically Felt and Yarn, inspired the development of our latest collection Futuretense.⁠
⁠
In the development of Futuretense, we looked at the trend towards felting, fuzziness, woolen softness and padded cloud-like shapes and effects. Designers such as Patricia Urquiola, artist Signe Emdal, and many others who have been expounded on the crossover between the cloud and woolliness.⁠
⁠
Of inspiration was the work of Sculpture Signe Emdal’s piece Acqua 4ever, 2024, which speaks of the idea of water evaporating, and the hazy horizon, created by the vapors rising from the earth to the skies, as expressed in woolen yarn.⁠

The sky above… it’s a universally experienced

The sky above… it’s a universally experienced phenomenon, and one that inspired the development of our latest collection. Futuretense draws on the idea of an expanding horizon, or the space above our heads, and how the movement of water vapor in the atmosphere might become a textile motif.⁠
⁠
Patterns explore this phenomenon in different shapes and effects. Whether through radials, radiating linework, or hazy and fuzzy effects that merge colors softly, as a felted woolen blanket would.⁠
⁠
The overarching approach was to capture the new dimensions created by water’s skyward movements.⁠
⁠

The sky above… it’s a universally experienced $The sky above… it’s a universally experienced phenomena, and one that inspired the development of our latest collection, Futuretense. Our designers drew on the idea of abstracting our experience of the sky. This is explored through Linearity, Geometry and Brushstrokes. We loved the visual expression of this in various artworks, works such as Urban Imprint by Studio INI, 2019, {shown here on slides 2 and 3} and Signe Emdal’s sculpture Acqua 4ever, 2024, {in an upcoming post…stay tuned.}⁠ ⁠ Parallel lines in Architecture and Weaving were a source of inspiration. The Sahara Las Vegas welcomes guests with its stunning Moroccan-style dome and elegant lighting inspiring the vibrant mosaic flowers that dot the property's walkways. A major renovation of the 60,000 sq. ft. casino transformed a once-dark space into a bright and airy oasis, with rich jewel tones that warm the gaming floor. Led by design executive and owner Nancy Paolino of Innovativo Design, the four-year renovation culminated in a sleek, modern aesthetic that honors the classic energy of Las Vegas, perfectly capturing the spirit of a new generation. The refreshed design debuted just in time for the Sahara's 70th anniversary. Pictured is the High Limit Bar in the Sahara's exclusive gaming lounge, featuring our 10-row Axminster carpets made from 80% wool and 20% nylon.⁠

Tuscany is an all-suite Hotel & Casino, located just off the Las Vegas strip, and offers its guests a luxurious Las Vegas Northern Italian resort experience. Our design studio was given the task of creating a sophisticated, modern Tuscan-inspired aesthetic that would appeal to tourists and locals, as both make up the demographic of visitors to the property. The Casino & Piazza Lounge carpet designs invoke bold, sophisticated statements. Styled with a nod towards traditional elements, the color palette supports the fresh new color direction for the entire property. Cobalt, Azure and Cerulean Blue produce the pops of color, set against a tailored background of Silvery Gray, Masonry, and Jet Black. To carry through the modern slant, shiny yarns permeate throughout the scrollwork, infusing a hint of glam. The new carpet designs contribute a whole new atmosphere to the easygoing elegance of the resort.⁠
