Project Overview

Located in Tacoma, Washington, the Emerald Queen Casino opened in 2020 and is owned by the Puyallup Tribe of Indians.  This brand-new, 820,000 square foot facility boasts a full-service Vegas-style gaming floor, complete with over 2,100 slots and 60 table games, 155 hotel rooms and suites, six dining venues, and a 250-seat sports bar. Traditional and contemporary Coast Salish artwork and architectural elements designed by Puyallup tribal members, combines Las Vegas glamour with culturally-informed design. Keeping the environment in mind, building elements using recycled materials and architecture designed to meet and beat the State’s energy code requirements. Cuningham Group Architecture worked with Couristan’s design team and utilized our ColourOptics Print Tile program to create the Casino’s meandering pathways that were inspired by the surrounding exterior areas and a churning geography that flows through the space.
