A Southern California desert retreat the Hilton Palm Springs is situated downtown in the desirable Village of Palm Springs. Nestled at the foot of the San Jacinto Mountains the hotel is only steps from luxury boutiques, art galleries and charming cafes. The property features 261 spacious guestrooms and 33,000 square feet of flexible special event space including two ballrooms a state-of-art day spa, landscaped pool courtyard and fine dining. Owner and interior designer Gia Donati of Gias Interiors was invited by the property to bring a fresh approach to their lobby. She evoked a mid century, modern color palette throughout her design scheme with the usage of vibrant hues of turquoise, teal, lime green and mustard gold. To set the tone she chose a modular oval sofa with a planter of an assortment of palm leaves as you enter into the hotel. Beyond the entry piece, modern kidney shaped sofas were designed and a coffee table in the main seating area adjacent to two areas of an eclectic mix of mid century styled chairs and tables. Setting the foundation and highlighting the furniture pieces are a series of bright, brilliant custom 80% wool/20% nylon Axminster palm fond rugs that harmoniously brought the light airy feel of Palm Springs culture to life.
