Project Overview

Located on St. Charles Avenue in New Orleans, the Hotel Henrietta is an extension of Columns, the storied 18-room hotel which was originally built in 1883 by Thomas Sully, a wealthy tobacco merchant and philanthropist. Featuring 60 guestrooms, two full-service restaurants and multiple event spaces for weddings, private events and business meetings, Henrietta was the first new construction hotel built on the historic St. Charles Avenue in 30 years. Since the property is prominent on such a culturally significant thoroughfare, it was vital for Farouki Farouki, a full-service architecture and interior design firm, that the architecture and interior fit into its context. The interior design distills and simplifies iconic elements from its more traditional existing sister property. Detailed tile patterns, rich color palettes, and elevated materials create an ambiance that feels unequivocally like New Orleans but still fresh and surprising. Firm partner, Caroline Landry Farouki utilized our Machine-Tufted carpet program to design these 100% solution dyed nylon looped carpets which defined a trendy and hip foundation for the hotel’s guestrooms.
