Located at the intersection of Miami’s downtown arts and design districts, the Marriott Miami Biscayne Bay makes use of playful color and an art deco history to establish the hallmarks of its design narrative. Drawing inspiration from the Wynwood murals, Art Deco architecture, and the legendary sunrises and sunsets of Miami, HBA San Francisco designers developed an elevated new identity for the interiors of the property that was true to the locale, its history and its vibrant culture. Containing a mix of bright colors and pastels that evoke curiosity and excitement, our design teams collaborated to develop a vibrant artwork with combination of playful hues and elements to create these hand-tufted cut and loop pile rugs. Each piece was tip-sheared and carved for added texture with each cut to pay homage to their inspiration to great organic shapes. The playful, fresh mood was carried throughout the property where the expertise of our woven Axminster program was utilized to create these magnificent corridor carpets of teal blues, sunset coral and oranges that captured the liveliness and culture of the surrounding area.
