When planning the design scheme for the JW Marriott San Antonio Hill Country Resort & Spa, interior architecture and design firm ForrestPerkins was inspired by the authentic roots and beautiful views of the region and incorporated the style of San Antonio Haciendas into the design of the resort. The emphasis was placed on substance, richness, texture and simplicity of detail. To acquire this look, Couristan’s Hand-Tufted Rugs program was used in the creation of these spectacular rugs which were on display in the resort’s Lobby and Public Spaces. Masterful use of color and pattern scale was created through the expertise of Couristan’s woven Axminster program for the Ballroom, Pre-Function and Elevator Lobby areas. This resort has won many prestigious awards, including Top 50 Mainland U.S. Resorts/Hotels (#20) from Celebrated Living Magazine (2013, 2012) and Marriott Hotel of the Year from Marriott International (2012).
